Re: Pay for Play & Lawsuits
It is only a matter of time before star academic recruits want to get their piece of this pie. Also, Band members, club leaders, artists, mathematicians, and other gifted and committed individuals in service to these universities should be lining up to receive financial inducements over and above s...

Pay for Play & Lawsuits
NIL may become a mute subject. Events are changing rapidly. NCAA settlement https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/40206364/ncaa-power-conferences-agree-allow-schools-pay-players If this is implimented, I am done. I have a tough time with the borish attitudes of current players with the port...

Re: Portal
Someone should get involved. This is not NIL, this is simply pay to play.
Money should be taxed and donations given to these funds should not be tax deductable.

Richmond moves Football to Patriot League
Spiders go to Patriot League in football in 2025. The President said the move was based upon changing sports environment. I have no idea what that means. This may hit them hard in attendance numbers and could lose a big rivalry game with William & Mary. I have no idea if anything is changing in B ba...

Grad Transfers
Jon Hammond - William & Mary
Gil Deglau - Villanova
I think we might have a few more out there. Feel free to update the list.

Re: New Football Stadium and Track
Random question - did opening the new Gamechangers Fieldhouse free up a lot of office/admin space in Baker? If so, what is that space going to be used for? Or am I misunderstanding how much space Baker has (Besides being in Belk for basketball games, I have no clue what any other space in that buil...

Re: Welcome Zach Laput!
I haven’t seen anyone on here disparage Laput. What I have tried to argue is (1) Davidson should maintain some academic standards for athletic eligibility; and (2) one of those requirements should be that the student athlete is pursuing a degree. I don’t think (1) is especially controversial, but (...

Re: Welcome Joe Hurlburt!
He looks like he has some great potential based on his HS video.
He dunks with authority. He can pass. He also has very nice form on his jump shot. Contrary to a few of our recent recruits, he seems to have moves and could get his shot if necessary.

Re: Welcome Zach Laput!
I think it is odd that we would take the "high road" and not retire a players' jersey until they complete their degree but we our now bringing in athletes who have no possibility of getting a Davidson diploma? Maybe the athletic staff should make a public statement regarding our policies or ...

Re: Caitlin Clark - Like Watchin' Steph
Suprisingly I enjoyed the 4 quarter womens game flow with only 4 total media timeouts. This format seemed to allow teams to get into better "runs" and bring more momentum into the game. The men's format with 8 media timeouts is tedious and horrible at times. FWIW, I wish the media would quit pushing...

Re: Caitlin Clark - Like Watchin' Steph
This team is not just about Clark. I think Coach Bluder does an incredible job and does not get a lot of the credit. I dare say at this point her motion offense is run better than ours. It seems like the players have more back door options and seem to be spread out more than us. Their guards can dri...
