Re: Portal
No inside info but my educated guesses on Spadone and Brizzi are: Spadone - wanted more playing time and will get it in Patriot League Brizzi - never really bought into TCC and Davidson more generally. He can “be the guy” at Longwood. To “be the guy” at Davidson you have to want your teammates to be...

Re: Portal
On the Minnesota message board, there were some folks who seemed to have intel about Vandy and Utah State being involved in Grant’s recruitment. You all know how reliable message board comments are, so do with that what you will. If true, I think Vandy would be a great landing spot for Grant. Especi...

Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
I doubt DeVries would want him to be his starting PG in the Big 12. Enright is talented but small & skinny, and may not hold up playing 30 mpg in a power conference league. If you look at the rest of the list, you’ll see the types of teams that think he can play big minutes for them. I like our chan...

Re: Portal
For every 4 year guy you’re thinking of that blossomed, there are several that barely saw the court all four years. We’ll (presumably) never get to know what Spadone and Rikus could have become as Davidson upperclassmen. Which is a bummer because they’re both really talented, good kids, and have ups...

Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
We don't need a 6'1 PG at the moment, unless we find one who is a lights-out shooter. We need a 6'6" swing player with a truculent disposition who can defend and rebound like crazy - like Brooks or Kosmalski. We need to get quicker vertically. If everyone stays (unlikely in this new transient porta...

Re: minus one
Clint had 20 points against Furple just two games before he got knocked out against The Citadel. He didn’t play the rest of the regular season but did get in for 6 minutes against M…… but he had a turnover and 4 fouls and was clearly not in game shape. He also added a pretty decent 3 point shot that...

Re: In Game: at St. Joe's
Does that put us playing Fordham on Tuesday at 11:30, or is there some game left to go that could change things? No TV coverage on Tuesday at all, from what I can tell. Yes, we play Fordham at 11:30 on Tuesday. I think in prior years they had first round games on ESPN+. I would plan on that being t...

Re: Colt 45 Award: at St. Joseph's
8 minutes in I am voting for Hunter. He is playing with great energy but also control. Forcing Joe’s to move on defense. Nice three, nice layup, and he is opening driving lanes and shots for others.

Re: In Game: vs. Loyola Chicago
Reed and Bobby both will get calls from coaches or boosters with $$ to toss around. And maybe Brizzi too, but I think A10 is about right for his abilities. Hopefully all three see value in a larger role (30+ mpg) for this squad next season, and trying to improve upon what they’ve already built. Not ...

Re: In Game: vs UMASS
I was at the game, so I haven't broken down the tape and I am not a hoops expert, but..... The "defensive intensity" demonstrated by heavily contested and blocked shots just might be part of the reason the Cats gave up so many offensive rebounds. Two defenders going up to contest a shot might not b...

Re: In Game: vs UMASS
The defense was great until a shot went up. Unfortunately, rebounding is part of defense. And we gave up 20 offensive boards. Can’t feel good about the defensive effort as a whole when we allow that many second and third chances. Relatedly, as much as the last minute of the game sucked, if we grab e...

Re: Colt 45 Award: vs. UMASS
Brizzi. His four point play in first half kept us attached going into halftime. Second half three also kept us in it when it seemed like UMass was pulling away.
I would’ve liked to see him instead of Durkin more down the stretch.
