Re: Portal
The Belk Report on Twitter/X reporting that Colgate portal guard Braeden Smith, who we have apparently been pursuing, is leaning toward Gonzaga. Can’t say I’m surprised. He’s from Washington state.

Re: Portal
Broadway Joe was paid a $400,000 signing bonus coming out of Alabama, roughly $2 million or so in today’s money. Unlike the $2 million the University of Washington apparently just coughed up for some one-and-done mercenary I’ve never heard of, I believe Namath’s bonus was a veritable bargain.

Re: Portal
Obscene for sure, and downright disgusting. Part of the reason I’ve had literally zero interest in the NBA and NFL for years now. Go Cats!

Re: Portal
Very interesting and honest commentary from Calipari. I don’t think I’d bet against the guy. He has something to prove. For those that don’t know, he played point guard at UNC-W, before transferring to Clarion.

Re: Battle for Atlantis
Our chances may hinge on whether or not we sign an experienced portal point guard who can both shoot and dish. That said, I'm worried.

Re: Newest Kool Aid recruiting thread
Based on several recent anecdotes, I don’t get the impression we are pulling big levers in the NIL space.

Re: 2024–2025 Davidson MBB Scholarship Players
Well, we sure need him to contribute. I suspect he’ll be much improved.

Re: 2024–2025 Davidson MBB Scholarship Players
Does anyone have insight into whether or not the coaching staff anticipates meaningful playing time next season for Mike Loughnane? He was Matt’s first commit as HC but saw very little court action during his freshman year. Hopefully he will be ready and able to contribute at point guard, especially...

Re: Portal
If Brizzi can fix his three point stroke, and stop perpetually driving deep into the paint with nowhere to go, he can become a very solid player. I hope he does.

Re: This Season - A Tale of Shooting (or Lack Thereof)
Purdue was nearly as bad the year before last so Matt Painter simply had each player shoot threes for five minutes after every practice starting in October. The results speak for themselves.

Re: Clunie Email re NIL
There was no real insight into the numbers regarding our NIL efforts on last night’s Zoom call with the AD and coaches. Did I miss something?

Re: Clunie Email re NIL
If we still plan on recruiting primarily thru the high school channel, we need enough NIL money to prevent select players from being poached after they develop here. The collective could also be used judiciously in the portal when a hole in the roster emerges. I see NIL at Davidson as more of a rete...
