Re: Portal
He's also visiting Washington, who just paid $2 million in NIL for a transfer. The picture with this article makes it clear that this is a pond in which Davidson should never swim, and if this becomes the norm, I will stop following D-1 basketball. https://sports.yahoo.com/great-osobor-anno...

Re: Portal
Dont know what his thinking involved, but as an outsider, Brizzi's transfer should be in the other post thread "No limit on stupid" Bad decisions all around. He wanted to play for Jay Wright and gets talked into redshirting, transfers mid season to Davidson after a new coach takes over, gives up an...

Re: This Season - A Tale of Shooting (or Lack Thereof)
Hooray for the A10. NCSOS was 162 and the home OOC schedule was really weak. Our best home OOC opponent was Wright State (Massey 181). Our others were 293, 290, 237, 303. W&L and Lynchburg don't count, but their Massey numbers were 699 and 1040. No wonder there are seats available. That is a putrid...

Re: Clunie Email re NIL
I didn't go to Davidson, so maybe i shouldn't chime in, but to all the folks who say the school should fully fund "X," I say, great, you write the check.
I believe that there are lots of schools that really do want to do lots of things, but don't have the money to do so.

Re: Welcome Zach Laput!
One thing to remember about "D2" athletes is that with the 5th years of eligibility for D1 athletes, a bunch of kids who would have gone to a D1 school, wound up in D2. For some of these kids, they got to play right away in D2 rather than sitting on the bench in D1. I hope that Zach Laput enjoys his...

Re: Other scores
I was debating watching Final 4 games this weekend. I am somewhat limited physically since I had surgery on my hand and still have stiches. So I knew I would be watching the tube, it was just a matter of what i would be watching. My decision was sealed when I found out the games are on TBS, and sinc...

Skogman meeting with U Wisconsin. Home state, six figure NIL most likely. The other four transfers out, dont see much happening. Not a market for guards that shoot poorly and played for a 500 team If he goes there, I wish him luck. Glad he wasn't playing for them this season. JMU would have had a p...

Re: Portal
PS about Enright. In what sector of the metaverse does the SMU job become better than Southern Cal??? ACC>BIG Ten ? Just speculating, but by changing schools the "clock" starts over again on his contract and the expectations. He hasn't really delivered the results USC was looking for when he was hi...

Jon Axel's little brother has entered the portal from Penn State. He has 3 years of eligibility. Don't know if Davidson ever had interest.

Re: Portal
I question whether basketball at Davidson is making the school money. Isn't any excess raised over cost going directly into women's sports and the non-revenue men's sports? Athletics at Davidson doesn't "make money" for the school. I don't think that there is any extra that the school brings in to g...

Re: Another tournament WTF
Today there are games in Charlotte, Pittsburgh, Omaha, and Salt Lake City. The first game starts at 12:45 eastern. Naturally the NCAA and CBS chose to start with the Salt Lake City games. That means they are starting before 11 am local time. TV can really screw things up. Colorado had several home ...
