Michael Carico is starting the season on the 7-day injured list for the Myrtle Beach Pelicans (Cubs, Class A) of the Carolina League. The Pelicans have a 6-game series at Kannapolis June 18-23.

Ryan Wilson is off to a hot start for the Lake Elsinore Storm (Padres, Class A) of the California League. After 7 games he is 7 for 18 with 6 RBIs.

Nolan DeVos was promoted last year in mid-season to the Asheville Tourists (Astros, High-A). He is back with the Tourists this year, and is on the 7-day injured list to start the season.

Eric Jones is back for another season with the Savannah Bananas.

Durin O'Linger is a pitching coach in the Dodgers organization. Last season he was assigned to the Rancho Cucamonga Low-A affiliate. This season he has been promoted to the Class AA Tulsa Drillers. "We were in the center ring the whole night,'' longtime Davidson coach Bob McKillop said. ''We were not on the ropes. We were not on the mat. We were in the center ring slugging away, and we just ran out of time.''

Is that a pro sport? The Tigers are #1 in Warren Nolan's RPI. Close enough to pro for me. Hinderleider is much better as a Tiger than he was as a Wildcat.

Check out his HIGH SCHOOL. I think I prefer Davidson University.

He’s been playing 1B for them. On Saturday they moved him to SS because of an injury. He had an error on a tough play in the NC State win

His fielding average was .914 last year as DU's regular SS.

A.J. Pabst has been in Charlotte's bullpen. He was our best short reliever last year, but he has not been effective for the Niners, except of course in the 24-1 debacle against his former teammates, when he got the final out.
