Woohoo! I hope they are outstanding.

The email from the men's hoops program said the minimum stay at the team hotel was 5 days.
I'll use the money I save by avoiding this tournament to go to the A10 Tournament in DC.
Maybe.

Re: Battle for Atlantis
If the A10 tournament is in DC, I’ll go, and it won’t influence other financial decisions. I stay with a classmate in Alexandria. My old roommate is in Chevy Chase and will likely take me out for a nice meal as well as meeting me for our games. Other than the ticket book and train fare, I might spend no more than I would at home.
I didn’t read all of the Atlantis fine print. I don’t know whether the package price includes all the hotel’s extra fees or just the basic room rate. If I got serious about going, I would check that out. That could be another $1,000.

There's a story on the UNCC board that says Creighton is being bought out of the Battle 4 Atlantis Tournament and will play in the Tournament in Las Vegas instead.

I understand that you can only go to the games your team is playing in. Can't go to the other games. That would suck as I like to watch basketball.
To me, as I absolutely hate big resorts, a very unappealing and unnecessary trip. I will watch every moment of the Cats on TV.

Re: Battle for Atlantis
Once we stopped there on a cruise. Since we had kids we booked a room at a neighboring motel w pool/water park privileges at the resort. The kids had a blast. I almost fell asleep on the lazy river. Very nice except for the noticeable pale image on my belly where my hand blocked the sun’s rays better than spf 50.
Re: Battle for Atlantis
I had a great time the two times I went to the Puerto Rico event, but that was not on a resort. I stayed at an unrelated hotel, and enjoyed various activities apart from the games
Resorts are to vacations what chilis is to food. I think the only thing worse is a cruise.

Creighton has withdrawn in order to raise NIL.

I hope we are looking for some NIL opportunities in this way and others.
Current team vs Davidson graduate team (with Steph)? $20 a ticket to go to NIL?

I was going to the Puerto Rico event the year I had been to Bermuda, changing planes in Miami. I would have hit the third vertex of the triangle, but the Zika virus intervened.graveline wrote: ↑Sun May 12, 2024 1:39 pmI had a great time the two times I went to the Puerto Rico event, but that was not on a resort. The good thing for me from all this was my looking back at my web pages for the Caribbean cruise and seeing how primitive they were, from twenty years ago. I updated the pages but was limited in what I could do with the pictures. The originals are on a Zip disk or backup CD somewhere, I guess. So the pages are about as good as I can do them for now. I didn’t update to current HTML standards, but thought that unnecessary.

I wonder which sportsbook paid Creighton's buyout.

"We were in the center ring the whole night,'' longtime Davidson coach Bob McKillop said. ''We were not on the ropes. We were not on the mat. We were in the center ring slugging away, and we just ran out of time.''
