I've been trying to think of basketball players charged with murder, attempted murder, or something along the lines of what Sandusky did. I'm terrible at this sort of thing though. I really can only remember three sports criminals off the top of my head- OJ Simpson, Rae Carruth, and now Aaron Hernandez. Anyone got NBA players for similar? I'm sure they're out there. How about soccer players?

I like football (not so much the NFL as college, but still). So he thinks he's winning the argument. I'm sure some smart people on here can help me out. Or maybe not. Maybe he's right. I just bet there's more that I'm not thinking of....
There are a lot more NFL players than NBA players -- perhaps that's why the sampling seems a bit larger. I suggest finding all of the charitable work done by NFL players and compare to that done by NBA players just to use the absurd to demonstrate the absurd.

Valter Costa is handling the case and, in a statement, he said: "One crime never justifies another crime. Actions likes this do not collaborate with the legality of state law."
That's certainly reassuring.
"We were in the center ring the whole night,'' longtime Davidson coach Bob McKillop said. ''We were not on the ropes. We were not on the mat. We were in the center ring slugging away, and we just ran out of time.''

Don't see this Hairston thing ending well for him or the Tar Heels.

Definitely a passion for soccer in Brazil. Can't imagine what that must have been like to witness and it was only an amateur game.

Will make for interesting debates about security as the World Cup in Brazil approaches next summer.

60 years should be enough time to accumulate a bit more wisdom.

The "news" to me in this story is really 2 things:

1. Ole Miss actually suspended him for what appears to have been his normal life all along?

2. He appears to have been intending to play another year of college basketball? With all the publicity he got last year, I just assumed he'd take his talents to the Philippines or something like that, rather than playing college hoops for free for another year.

Marshall henderson

I don't see this ending well for Henderson. With my first allegiance to DU, I follow Ole Miss with fervor and I am not optimistic that henderson will play for ole miss this year. The coach has tried to keep him in the corral, and Henderson just can't help himself. The Chancellor will have little patience for indulging Henderson. Kennedy may be best served to remove the distraction, and he has just won the SEC and received an extension; a stronger position from which to remove distractions.

He's the 30th active NFL player arrested since the Super Bowl, and the second New England Patriots player.

Our neighborhood swim team does "themes" at all our meets these days.

Yesterday's meet had a theme of "NFL" and all but twelve swimmers showed up wearing orange jumpsuits.
