This guy needs his own stupid thread:

Keith Olbermann has been taken off his ESPN show for the rest of the week after making insulting comments about Penn State students on Twitter.

Or just give him a lifetime achievement award and ignore him thereafter.

Anyone who imagines the NCAA is a serious institution, read the above. Cream cheese for sure.

Wow, that whole article reads like something from the Onion. I'm still wonder, though, whether they had to vacate any field hockey wins.

Kerry Miller won the 2014 No Limit on Stupid Entry of the Year award. He's already a strong contender to repeat with this gem from today: "I totally get wanting to see Davidson ranked ahead of VCU, but the gigantic gap between their non-conf SOS is what it is."

Did we do a "Top 10 List?"

As for VCU's strength of schedule, they did have to play Davidson twice.

As for Kerry, he "is what he is."

I can understand why Miller said that. He's trying to put his errors in judgment in the best possible light, but that one little thing -- SOS -- is all he has left to work with. Sort of like the Iraqi Information Minister back in 1990 as the Coalition forces were about to enter Bagdad: "We are beating them, we are driving them."

1991

I was teaching a Real Estate Law class for CPCC at Myers Park High School on 1/17/91, which is when the first Gulf War began in earnest, I think.

My wife became quite irritated with me and her obstetrician, because we were watching the news coverage in the birthing room while she was delivering our son. 1/18/91.

That was the night some guy was reporting from under the table. Or was it his bed?

I saw the news at home that evening and realized 2 things:

1: I was going to be glued to the TV for a long time.
2: I was out of beer.

I immediately headed out on a logistics mission.
