Go USC. I don't care who wins the men's tournament as long as Hurley has a bad day.
No Southern Cal in finals.
That's why I didn't say Southern Cal. They fell short. USC won the whole thing. Or just call them Carolina, if you prefer.

I don’t think anybody in southern California calls Southern Cal anything but that or SC, no ‘U’.

South Carolina is the only name I call them. USC is in California and Carolina is in Chapel Hill.

The real USC was founded in 1801, the California upstarts not until 1880.

I was amused by an international news brief I heard the other day. For some reason (and to their credit, I suppose), the sports update included one sentence about the teams in the NCAA women's basketball final. Sadly, they relied on a feed that must have said "USC", which they lengthened to "the Trojans of Southern California".

It made me laugh, but if you do enough research to find out the mascot of the team, you'd think you would also stumble on the name of the correct school.

He will be a perfect replacement for the similarly obnoxious "Coach Cal."

Maybe, but he got a lot out of them. Bill Murray’s son has received some credit for their offense. I saw something this week on him.

Was it the SBU fans who tagged him with the best coaching nickname ever? "The Pageant Mom" is perfect for him. He's one of the most creative cursers I've heard. Using the copulation word as three different parts of speech in a single sentence is laudable.

Hurley has apparently made a public statement that he will not take the KY job; his wife prefers to live in Connecticut. lord, he is tiresome!

The article stated that KY is looking to Billy Donovan, with the Bulls, who was in Lexington with Pitino in the mid-'90's.

Geez. A rumor like that could get a coach a nice raise and/or extension. Wonder who started it?
