Damn.
"We were in the center ring the whole night,'' longtime Davidson coach Bob McKillop said. ''We were not on the ropes. We were not on the mat. We were in the center ring slugging away, and we just ran out of time.''

Weak hands proved our downfall again.. we couldn't grab key rebounds or hold the ball to keep it from getting stolen.

We walk the ball across midcourt and call TO with less than a minute and a 3 point lead . . . Game over.

Guys played hard and well enough to win. That one decision put us behind the 8-ball to the end.

Hate it for the guys.

9 points in 9 minutes isn't going to win many games down the stretch.

We were 9 of 19 on free throw attempts, plus some of those misses were the first shot of 1-and-1s. Lost the game at the foul line.

The season turns on games like this.
You win and you have a chance to get right back into good shape in the Conf.
Now, it could go (or keep going, more accuratrely) downhill.

In last 4 min:
Bailey misses 2.
Skog misses front end.
Connor misses front end, where if he makes both we go up 4 with 30 secs (?) left.

Also, ball gets stolen from Bailey's soft hands. They get a rebound on a missed FT.

We wasted a very good first half. And I think we were up 8 in the second half.

47% Foul Shooting didn't help. That has to be some type of record.

Missed FTs. Missed block outs on FTs. Coach calls a TO in the back court, leading to a steal and points for GW. Losing games is one thing, but losing on such fundamental errors is another thing entirely.

Neither the Grateful Dead song nor Psalm 121 applies. We need to help ourselves by playing smarter, fundamental basketball.

Horrible coaching as well. We are up by 8 at the 8 minute market. Logan goes out. Coach puts in a bizarre line up and we blow the lead.

Two time outs in back court hurt us.

No coaches on the bench point out the short shot clock.

Snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

One possible mitigating circumstance regarding the time out re: the backcourt foul is that they might have been about to foul Sean, which you didn't want.

But better that than a chance to let them set up their press. I didn't catch it immediately, but it was a mistake.

Matt McK sounded pretty depressed on the broadcast.

Understandably.

An amazing stat line by Grant. Didn't realize he was wearing that mouthpiece b/c he got a tooth knocked out v. Rhode Isl.
He is tough as nails. He had a good look in the last minute of overtime (I think) that he didn't make, but he played a great game.

If they fouled Sean away from the ball, wouldn't that be more than a one and one?

Can we afford getting 3 rebounds from our starting center? An occasional block from a 6'11" guy would help, too.

I didn’t watch the game, just saw some of the play by play and read this thread. Seems like the biggest problem now is just a lack of confidence - fear of bad things rather than confidence in good things. You don’t miss that many in close, that many FTs, and have the inexplicable TOs I read about if you are confident and executing.

Maybe I’m wrong though. But everyone has to be really bummed to lose this game that they should have won.
