A classmate of mine and citycat 's paid a visit as sat with us. Late in the second half he quipped. "We sure do spend al ot of time trying to find the perfect shot, and then end up taking a bad shot."

We don't force the issue enough on these pressure defenses. Drive on then and draw the foul.

We may not have executed well at crunch time, but we gave tremendous effort from the opening tip. Down the stretch VCU’s perimeter defense, plus their foul shooting, really turned the tide. Congrats to them, and to Coach Odom. I was impressed.

When it was 44-40 us, he said, "Whichever team gets to 60 first will win." He was right. An athletic team, like Richmond and VCU, can shut us down in crunch time. We couldn't hit a shot and we couldn't draw a foul.

They have 5 foreign players and their foreign players are better shooters and athletes than our foreign players.

Our recruiting of foreign players peaked with Luka, Lee, and Sam and we have not signed a foreign player nearly as good since.

Glass half-full take: That's pretty recent.

I think Hunter Adam will be a very good player for us. On par with our best foreign players all said and done.

Agree. Hunter is a smart player, very versatile, does everything well.

Really missed Skogman tonight. His 3 pointers from out front when he is trailing coming down court would have really helped tonight.

Logan needs to learn to lay aggressively on defense without fouling.

I thought the refs really swallowed their whistles at the start of the game. Lots of 2 hands allowed on the man with the ball when dribbling early on. I was surprised at how many of Davidson's drive early on didn't result in fouls, but then the refs tightened up a little later.

Someone mentioned a game or two ago that Brizzi always pump fakes. Now I can't not see that. He was wide open in the lane one time and pump faked to give the defense time to recover and alter his shot. He really needs to learn how to not do that on occasion and surprise the defense.

Careless turnovers in the last 9 minutes of the game are why the Cats lost.

It would have been a great win without Skogman playing, but the Cats threw it away.

Definitely a winnable game. Sad for the lads and sad for us; we all deserved better. Go Cats!

Whenever they mentioned Max Shulga, I thought of Dobie Gillis. I must be old.

When I hear Dobie Gillis, I think of Thalia Menninger.

Several future big stars appeared on that show, Tuesday Weld among them. Dobie spent a lot of his time thinking of Thalia Menninger.

In my day, Schulman had a syndicated column that was carried by The Davidsonian.

I think of that show when at Rodin exhibits.

I’ve never had a watercress sandwich or even seen one.

4 star recruit, #77 in his class, #1 in Ohio, wanted by everyone. Good option for an iso drive with the game on the line.

Can't stop thinking about last night's game. That was a brutal loss. We will miss Skogman very much going forward. Bad luck, and this team is flawed in some important areas, but you have to admire the way they get after it and never quit. I hope it pays off for them down the road; they deserve it.
