Clearly a football move. The MAC is weaker than the A10 in about everything.

Re: Bye Bye UMass
UMass leaving puts the league at an even number of schools. I would think adding 2 schools makes the most sense.

Add no one at this point. If another school leaves, add Charleston to have an even number.
14 is much better than 15. Everyone can play on the weekends in conference play. Fewer schools to divide NCAA money.
Massachusetts was in the MAC before, maybe just for football, and it did not work out well.

Unless we know for sure that other teams in the conference are going to be leaving or trying their best to leave imminently, id like to stay at 14. Having sixteens is better than an odd number of schools, but starts feeling like were just too big and adding schools for the sake of having numbers built in if other programs leave.

No need to add more schools. Dilution is never any good and rivalries become obscured.
Re: Bye Bye UMass
I remember when they were the Redmen.
Can I say that?

Re: Bye Bye UMass
You can say that as this venue respects the First Amendment, but that doesn’t make it right. I know that St. John’s was called the Redmen long ago, not so sure about UMASS, however.

It's right. They were the Redmen.

Re: Bye Bye UMass
My bad, just googled Redmen to,learn that UMASS was them from 1948 to 1972. Now, even Minutemen is not politically correct.
