Bad news for Dayton
Bad news for Dayton
Koby Brea is in the portal.
We have been on the receiving end of his great-and I mean great-outside shooting. Most recently at UD Arena (I was there, and he personally made sure the 2d half was drama free.)
You may recognize a few of the names below. I'm not sure what "Effective" means...
From a College Basketball Analytics site:
Out of all players that have made 50+ 3-pointers (among P6 & KenPom top 75 teams)...
These 6 have the highest 'Effective Field Goal %':
Koby Brea, Dayton
Kerwin Walton, Texas Tech
Reed Sheppard, Kentucky
Michael Jones, Stanford
Cam Spencer, UConn
Brendan Hausen, Villanova

Re: Bad news for Dayton
Effective field goal percentage is weighted for three pointers but also factors in two point FG percentage
TCC - trust, commitment, care
Re: Bad news for Dayton
Dayton did get a commitment from former Buckeye Zed Key. He’ll be an effective A10 big man.
Re: Bad news for Dayton
I wouldn't worry about Dayton. There will be many teams between us and them.

Re: Bad news for Dayton
I had always thought that the formula also accounted for FT%. I see now that FT's can be used in a subtractive way in the formula (total points - ft points), but do not impact the final EFG figure.

Even though he is such a Duke homer, Feinstein loves college basketball as much as we do. Great piece. Thanks for sharing

Brea lists his final five as UNC, UConn, Duke, Kansas and Kentucky.
He wants to help make a struggling program better.
