We're taking the family to the Bay Area for a spring break trip, and are going to include a trip to see the Warriors play the Hornets on March 17.

Looks like tickets are plentiful, and so we'll pick up what we can. Any tips on getting to the arener from San Fran on game night - heck, any tips at all on going to a Warriors game will be appreciated.

Looking forward to seeing Steph play in front of his home crowd. There will be five of us in Davidson gear in the rafters that night.

I've found the BART (subway/train) to be pretty good for getting from San Fran to the Oakland side of the bay. I used it to get from the airport in San Fran last March to get all the way over to a hotel near St. Mary's to catch a ride to the NIT game there. Then, my wife and I used the BART last June a good bit when we were there. The trains run frequently and I had no problem even riding late at night. I never actually went into Oakland, though.

After the BART crosses over from San Fran, the lines fork near Oakland to go south and north/northeast.

I'd be willing to bet there's a BART station near the arena.

Here's a link to the website:

The BART is the way to go. There is a stop right at the Oracle Arena and McAfee Coliseum, which are next to each other.

It is especially colorful when the Raiders are playing and you get to see the fans dressed like Goths with spikes sticking out of their shoulder pads.

I was once flying from Ontario, CA to San Jose on a Sunday morning during football season and saw people getting on flights dressed like that.

I've taken the train from SF to Oakland for an A's game. It's the way to go. The stop is as close as most of the available parking. Plus, there was a problem with one of the bridges. I don't know if that has been fully resolved.

If you would like to go down to courtside and watch the players ( including a certain Davidson player) warm up before the game (they usually warm up and shoot around from 6pm for about 45 minutes), please PM me and we can set it up. I will be going to the game and we can meet at Will Call at 6pm when the gates open. The game will start around 7:30.

I'm not sure who will be more excited- JG, who is about 48, or the youngsters.

Take BART. I've done so for both Warriors and A's games.

A car is almost a liability in San Francisco.

Thanks to everyone - it sounds like BART is clearly the way to go. We'll probably drop off the rental when we head to SF after spending some time in Yosemite.

SFactuary71 - that sounds great. I sent you a PM.

This will be only my third pro basketball game in person - first one was the Carolina Cougars in Dorton Arena, and I've gone to one Bobcats game.
