Up next: Richmond
Re: Up next: Richmond
Is Skogman at full strength a possibility this season? Sure doesn't look that way. I admire his commitment and determination to keep playing.

I think the best hope is that when David is in the ballgame that we are getting the most out of the minutes he does play.

perhaps Huffman, will get Quinn in some early foul trouble when Huffman drives to the basketbagelcat wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2024 10:35 amThey are killing it in the SoCon transfer mkt.
Leading scorer Jordan King comes from ETSU. 42 made 3pt shots this year, shooting at .416 clip from 3. Averages 18 points a game.
Also there are transfers from Citadel (Jason Roche), Western (Tyler Harris) and Wofford (Isaiah Bigelow).
7 footer Quinn (Lafayette transfer) far and away the assist leader, playing the TJ Cline/Grant Golden high post passer role (as noted by 77 Cat--not his real name).
I hope Skog is at full go. We need him.

Vegas has the Cats as a 1.5 point favorite.
Always like beating the Spiders, I have rooted against them for longer than I have rooted for the Wildcats.
My cats have killed lots of spiders, they usually pull a few legs off and watch them move around in circles before delivering the coup de grace.
I prefer to just stomp on them myself and end it quickly.
Go Cats!

50 years ago was a very depressing time to be a male freshman at Davidson. The USA was in the throws of the Energy Crisis and Watergate. The excitement of coeducation was over and we were in a cold Winter Quarter.
Richmond came to play at Davidson in early February. They beat us early in the season in Richmond. Someone sponsored a poster/banner contest for Lewis Mills Night. Mills was the coach of Richmond who had an infamous combover.
There was a very popular song at the time by Tom T. Hall, which included him speaking short stanzas while music played in the background. One of the stanzas was something like, "I love winners when they cry, losers when they try, fresh baked apple pie, and beer." "(A)nd beer" was repeated quite often.
One women's freshman hall penned a banner that read, "I love Spiders when they're dead, Cats when they're ahead, Lewie's bald head, and beer." They won the contest and their banner was repeated in Sports Illustrated. Maybe they won some beer.
A good chuckle was had by all Davidson fans until Richmond blew us away in the semifinals of the SoCon Tournament.

I once had a sermon title that was something like "Jesus, the Mahdi, and Quinn the Eskimo." It must have been during Advent. When anyone asks me why I don't have sermon titles, I tell them the titles I used to have before I quit.
