I like his game. I hate we couldn't get him, but 4 guys in one class from 6'2" to 6'5" may be too many. I expect our last guy will be a big. Since Sunday Okeke has a visit scheduled this month I guess he's the coaches' first choice.

From what I saw and have heard, Walter would have made a great Wildcat/Davidson student. After Luke committed, I figured it was not to be. I wish him well.

Walter seems like a good player and a better human. I wish him luck and, as he isn't a Wildcat, I am at least happy he didn't select one of the other league members over ole DU.

I think Walter went for a spot where he could play right away. Davidson is building a great roster. Every scholarship seems to be going to the right need. Will be interested if they find someone else for '17; make a guy come on as a walkon with academic scholarships; or look for that transfer. I could think of a few Acc or sec teams with players not playing enough relative to talent.

Interview with '18 Riley Battin, where he talks about his game and what he's working on, but also one interesting tidbit...
7. Who are some of the college coaches that have made an impression on you and your family?

RB: Standford [sic], Colorado, Marquette, Notre Dame, Davison [sic] ( they are recruiting me the hardest), Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Utah

Wonder if Steph's west coast presence will widen the basketball programs geographical net one day?

Cats have been recruiting out west for years. Think North Hollywood, Poway, and Oceanside California.

Or the San Diego area. And we've done some recruiting much, much further west.

Back to Riley Battin (remember he's 2018), here are some fun highlights of the young man:

His game would fit in perfectly to the Davidson system.

Updates approximately every fifth page on this thread (or when drivel crosses 99% threshold, or whenever I feel like it). Comments, corrections, and additions welcome: public, PM, or by email. All will be replied to. Some might even be heeded.

The Kool-Aid list reflects publicly available sources, typically internet recruiting sites (e.g., Rivals.com, Verbalcommits.com, Twitter, etc.), and published reports. News of offers and commitments must be publicly sourced. The list is maintained for entertainment purposes only. It contains no information received from coaches or recruits. waitress takes full responsibility for any omissions, typos, or other errors.

Back-of-the-envelope scholarship count: Davidson gets thirteen scholarships. For the 2016-2017 season, Davidson presumably has 12 of 13 scholarships used by: Perkey, McAuliffe, Gibbs ('17); Aldridge, Ekwu, Magarity(RS), Michelson, Reigel, & Watkins ('18 ); Gudmundsson, Kovacevic(RS), & Pritchett(RS) ('20).
