Battle for Atlantis gets us practice at accepting a beating. That's a strong field.
We should at some point get to play a team we can compete with in Atlantis. Likely on the third day, but one can hope for it to be the second day. Definitely won’t be the first.

Re: Up next: Peace

If they pass to an airborne player for a dunk, is that a Peace Oop?

Re: Up Next: red black scrimmage

Reed looked like an all conference player. He will be our best offensive option this year, as he was toward the end of last season. Kochera hit him for an alley oop early which was the best play of the night. Those two have developed some really great chemistry. Loughnane played great and shot great...

Re: Tony Bennett says bye (immediately)

Indeed. A lot of the reporting so far has gone out of the way to stipulate his health is great, and he’s hanging it up because he’s frustrated about where the college game is going. I saw a report (maybe from Jeff Borzello?) that said Bennett wanted to stay involved in college athletics to help reme...

Re: Davidson in the Top 12

Can’t speak to other rankings but Miya values defense more than most others. With Durkin and Logan returning and playing more minutes, we’re probably getting a lot of credit on D where other rating systems don’t value those guys as much.

Re: Up Next: red black scrimmage

Yes PG by committee has been a common approach, this year should be no different. I’d say last few years with Foster & Grant handling the ball so much was the exception more than the rule. We are better when we have 2-3 or more players who can advance the ball up the court and attack the paint. And ...

Re: McKillop's preseason forecast on Zoom, 8/27

One other takeaway from last night, Matt said Hunter Adam has made a lot of progress in his overall game, and especially with three point shooting. Said we could see him as both a wing and a forward this year. Hunter is like the quintessential sixth man, a bruiser and energy guy off the bench. To me...

Re: McKillop's preseason forecast on Zoom, 8/27

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Coval start game one at the point. The way Matt talked about him last night made it sound like he is ready to play at this level both physically and mentally. High IQ, great defender, great shooter, leader. Exactly the type of player Davidson needs to run the offense. ...

Re: This Season - A Tale of Shooting (or Lack Thereof)

Hunter contributed nicely to our block total last year too. He “only” had 12 but given his minutes that is a pretty high rate. I recall some of those being in key moments and changing momentum. He makes some great plays on D.

Re: Battle bracket

Arizona will almost certainly be ranked when we play them, maybe even top 5 or top 10. It’ll depend how their game against Duke goes the week before we play them. We were always gonna get the toughest draw as the weakest projected team in the field. Good opportunity to show if we belong with teams a...

We also have a home buy game against Detroit Mercy on 12/14 per their schedule release: https://x.com/DetroitMercyMBB/status/1824149534370566320 UDM was one of the worst teams in D1 last year (can’t recall if they won a game) and have since hired a new coach and brought in some new players. In theor...

Re: Welcome Devin Brown!

Long defender, good shooter, can score in the paint through contact. Very excited to add Devin, perfect player to add in the modern game. I am having a hard time seeing how he didn’t end up at P5 level, maybe we unearthed another diamond in the rough from Ohio.
